Not very wide. Guess an armed lounge would be better for sun to get under arms while laying on back. Is a little hard Great for reading. by mighty IT

It's a little rickety feeling and easy to tip off the bottom or off to the side. I don't use it in sand which I'm sure would help with that. by jeannie
